Our Company

We’ve been delivering excellence across Central Queensland since Chris Loudon founded HWC Building Contractors in 2011. Our team of professionals has earned a strong reputation for excellence on every project we undertake, whether a small installation or a full-scale build. Since 2011, we’ve covered every aspect of commercial, civil and premium residential construction throughout CQ, from Emerald to Yeppoon and in some extremely remote locations.

Now almost 15 years in business, HWC has doubled its initial turnover goals and has experienced substantial growth across Central Queensland in the past five years. It’s the self-starter mentality that built HWC and continues to drive the business forward.

We thrive on tackling tough sites, complex environments or project constraints (completing work in school holidays, working with limited access or on an active site, for example).

Our management and quality systems align with ISO9001 and ISO45001 so clients can be assured that all work is conducted safely and to top quality standards. Every team member is fully trained and dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment while ensuring all projects meet the strictest standards.

Our team

HWC Building Contractors crew now includes over 10 qualified trades and support staff, bringing together more than 130 years of combined work experience. The team includes experienced carpenters, cabinet makers, block layers, and mature-aged apprentices who contribute both technical skills and life experience. We value the maturity and strong work ethic each person contributes, recognising that real-world experience adds significant value to every project.

If you talk to one of the HWC crew, they’ll tell you the business culture is one of the things they value most. For example, our team regularly adjusts schedules for school pick-ups, assemblies, and sports carnivals because we believe supporting families makes better workers. We work hard and deliver exceptional results, but never at the expense of what matters most.
